Cindy Marie Jenkins is an internationally published writer and educator who shares research-based digital literacy for families through the arts and intentional communications. She has been featured as a source or guest in BBC Culture, Today’s Parent, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Business Insider, Wired, Tampa Bay Times, Care.com, Parent Smarter, Not Harder, The Art and Science of Mom; podcasts include On Boys, Civic Science Media Lab, Pop Culture Makes Me Jealous, Think of the Children, The Scenic Route, and more.

She produced and programmed multiple arts education programs in Los Angeles at Enrichment Works; Antaeus Classical Academy, Shakespeare in Juvenile Prisons Program, Virginia Avenue Project, and Center Theatre Group. These experiences pushed her live event storytelling skills to their limits for social impact, including being honored as the 2007 Keynote Speaker for the UK Chernobyl Remember Chernobyl Conference. There her short film adaptation of Chernobyl stories premiered and is still circulated to attract more donors.

While in China for her partner’s job, she was wrote and spoke on being a work-at-home parent and how to relocate your family for a job. In 2020, she pitched a piece about enduring quarantine with kids to Beijing’s leading expat magazine, Jingkid International, and soon after became their Deputy Editor. During a time when health and school regulations changed daily, Cindy became a local trusted authority in school selection and community building for international families. She also learned the media ecosystem and CRM inherent in WeChat while publishing and distributing 3-4 articles daily. When WeChat introduced short video in 2021, she was quick to enhance their brand with both entertaining and educational expat content that could appeal internationally.

At True Run Media in Beijing, she produced and moderated panels for international K12 School Choice Conferences, and activated their inaugural outdoor Summer Camp Choice Festival. Cindy took the reins to edit the 2021-2022 Beijing School Choice Guide, curating over 100 pages of intricate international school profiles and quality accompanying educational articles.

After repatriating to the States, Cindy jumped on the chance to stay on WeChat be an Educational Counselor for international students through their college application journey at Elite Scholars of China, building curriculums to coach their writing, interest development, and understanding of foreign cultures.

Cindy is also now part of the Collaborative team at Creative Evolutions, a consulting firm laser focused on activating and distributing new and human-centered solutions. This summer they’re producing five intertwined events in five cities and two countries to generate working solutions for Arts, Universities, and their Communities. One of her next big challenges is to create a living sourcebook out of these gatherings.
